Description
Each face of these dice is tinted with translucent red, blue, yellow, or clear, giving them a subtle parti-color look even before they light up. When rolled on a powered tray, the internal LEDs bring those colors to life, shifting and blending beneath the platinum star details. Bright, playful, and a little theatrical, this set feels like rolling under carnival lights.
The powered dice tray continues the 'night under the big top' feel. Small flecks of silver glimmer in the midnight blue tray, and the (upcycled) black leather lining hints at something just a little wild.
About these Light-Up Dice
- This set consists of a full set of light-up dice (2d20, 1d12, 1d%, 1d10, 1d8, 1d6, and 1d4) and a powered dice tray.
- The dice contain tiny wireless LEDs that light up when they pass near the powered dice tray. Lighting depends on alignment—so while they don’t glow every time, most rolls produce at least a flicker.
- The dice tray is the power source. It must be plugged into a wall outlet, power bank, or other electric source in order for the dice to light.
- There are no batteries in my light-up dice, and they don’t need to be charged.
- The LEDs are expected to last around 8,000 hours. (That’s a lot of game nights.) They’re sealed inside the dice and cannot be replaced—but for most users, they’ll last for years.
- These dice are fully playable, but not precision-balanced. They use what I call a kinetic core, which means the dice are hollow and the LEDs are free-floating. This adds a little internal movement to help keep weight more evenly distributed. (And it makes them really fun to roll!)
- The d20 measures approximately 24 mm tall when resting on the table, and the other dice are sized accordingly. The dice tray is roughly 7x8 inches—small enough to fit on your table but big enough that you can roll a fistful of dice on it.
- These are handmade resin dice, and like all handmade things, small variations and surface imperfections may occur. They are cast, sanded, and polished by hand—not mass-produced. The dice tray, too, is cast resin, and goes thru the same polishing process as my handmade dice—though admittedly a bit less rigorously.
- The glow is part of the experience, but not the whole point. These dice are designed to feel good in your hand and look beautiful on your table—even when they’re not lit.
