Description
A dragon's life begins in fire, and this die is no different. As the shell cracks open, the slumbering red dragon within is revealed, its scales shimmering like molten lava. Hold it in your hand and decide its fate -- will it be a force for good, or a harbinger of destruction?
Dicemaker's note: Designed to be like a baby chick emerging from its shell, this die teases at the beauty within. The full splendor of the dragon remains just out of sight, forever encased in its shell. Pictures don't do it justice!
About this Die
- This is an over-sized d20, and measures approximately 33mm tall when resting on the table.
- This orb shape is unique, and was designed by Revel Broker Productions. When you hold this die, it's like holding a very round, very smooth egg. And the orb head magnifies what’s inside, giving it a cool distorted effect.
- This d20 is ‘offset’. That means that, by design, there is no top face. Rather, you read the down-tilted face. It’s not difficult to learn, but helps if you know the trick before hand. See my FAQ for an example.
- This die is handmade, which means it is molded, cast, polished, and inked by hand, one face at a time. While some mold marks or imperfections may be present, it is well-balanced and should roll true for casual play.
Notable Quirks
When I sized these dragons for their eggs, I miscalculated by a fraction of a millimeter. Their horns poked ever so slightly above the surface of the die, and were sanded off before I realized it, leaving two tiny grey spots, Because this die is already very favorably priced, I'm not discounting it, but wanted to be transparent about the quirk.
